Meeting people is part of the fun of travelling. We love to meet the locals as well as fellow travellers who happen to be in the same place at the same time. Here you'll find snaps of some of the people who made our journey special.
People
Marcella, Beatrice and Monica from Italy were having a birthday bash at the restaurant in Osaka, Japan where Suzanne and I were dining. We soon got to know them and took this photo along with the friendly restaurant staff and a big bottle of Sake.
Mr Ichiro Yumoto, owner of the Shimaya Ryokan in Yudanaka, Japan was a remarkable character and an amazing host. He not only made sure our stay in his traditional inn was comfortable and pleasant, but he went out of his way to provide tips and advice for the rest of our trip. Here we are presenting a poster to hang up on one of the walls.
Mr Shingo Endo is a good friend from work. His father Michio
represented Malta Japan and neighbouring countries for many many years in and since Mr Endo senior retired, Shingo took over. It was a real pleasure meeting Shingo during my trip to Tokyo for some Japanese beer and snacks. Godzilla can be seen peering from the hotel rooftop.
